Q&A for Those Considering or Unsure About Using Our Facilities
Q1. Can anyone use the facilities regardless of age or gender?
A. Yes. Anyone can use our facilities regardless of age or gender.
Please understand that we are unlike regular hotels and inns, and require a concrete training plan in advance, adherence to rules and agreements for communal living, and participation in gatherings to foster friendships.
Day trips are also available.
Q2. Can we stay overnight if we just show up on the day?
A. Please make a reservation.
Please also note that application forms must be submitted 40 days prior to your arrival date.
A reservation allows us to coordinate arrangements so that you and other groups can conduct your activities and training projects effectively.
Q3. Can we use the facilities for a kindergarten’s slumber party?
A. Yes! Please enjoy your slumber party for the children at our facilities.
For young children’s stays, Japanese-style rooms or low beds can be arranged. Please ask us about private bath times.
Q4. Can we use the facilities for a club retreat?
A.You are more than welcome! Please feel free to visit us.
The Taisetsu Youth Friendship Center is appropriate for your training projects and group activities.
We offer our facilities at affordable usage fees in a rich natural environment at the foot of Mt. Tokachidake.
Q5. Can we use the facilities for choir or brass band training camps?
A. Of course you can!
Depending on the activities of other groups, we can develop your training programs that allow ample practice time, including section rehearsals.
Some schools that have held training camps at the National Taisetsu Youth Friendship Center every year have achieved excellent results in competitions and other events.
Q6. Can we use the facilities for corporate training?
A. Yes, feel free to use our facilities for your corporate training.
Taisetsu Youth Friendship Center has facilities such as a gym, an auditorium, and eight training rooms in various sizes, suitable for groups of any size.
Audiovisual equipment for your training programs, such as projectors compatible with PCs, is available.
Q7. Can we use the facilities with just our family?
A. Absolutely!

Q8. Can we use your facilities for martial arts training?
A.Of course!
Our martial arts hall, called Budokan, is available with tatami mats and other training materials you need.
Every year, many groups practicing Shorinji Kempo, judo, aikido, kendo, and other martial arts hold training camps here and achieve excellent results in competitions.
Q9. Can we use the facilities for cross-country skiing or marathon training camps?
A.Yes, you are in the perfect environment!
The hilly terrain around Mt. Tokachidake and the Center is ideal for your training and is frequently used by high school sports clubs and the Self-Defense Forces.
Q10. Can we use the gym or tennis courts for a day trip?
A.Reservations must be made 40 days prior to your visit for both a day trip and an overnight stay.
Your reservation made less than 40 days in advance may be accepted, subject to availability. Please contact us before your visit.
*Please note that priority is given to overnight groups for facility use.
Q11. Can we just have a meal at the cafeteria and leave without any activities?
A.Please refrain from using our cafeteria without any activities.
You can have meals in the facilities while participating in group sports or learning activities.
Q12. Can we just use the hot springs for bathing and leave?
A. Please refrain from using the hot springs for bathing only, as we are basically a training facility.
You can use the hot springs after participating in any activities.
If you are looking for a hot spring facility for bathing only, please contact the Shirogane Onsen Tourism Association (TEL: 0166-94-3025) or the Biei Town Tourism Association (TEL: 0166-92-4378).

Q13. I lost or left something behind while using the facility. What should I do?
A. If you have lost or left something behind, we are keeping it safe for you at the front desk.
For valuables, such as wallets, watches, glasses, and other expensive items, we will contact the relevant organization.
If the owner cannot be found, we will turn them in to the Biei Police Box.
Daily necessities such as towels will be held for three months, after which they will be disposed of.
If an item is found after you have left the facility, we will send it to you via mail, collect on delivery.
