Q1. What is the Taisetsu Youth Friendship Center?
A. We are a youth educational facility where participants can engage in a variety of experiential activities utilizing the natural environment of the Tokachidake Mountain Range, as well as well-equipped sports and training facilities, with the aim of fostering young people’s “energy for life” and nurturing well-rounded adults.
Q2. What does Youthpia Taisetsu mean?
A. Youth + Utopia = Youthpia. Youthpia Taisetsu is a nickname for the Taisetsu Youth Friendship Center. This nickname reflects the meaning of a place for hopeful training at the foot of one of Hokkaido’s most magnificent mountains.
Q3. Please instruct me about the facility’s regulations and rules.
A. We are a place where many people meet, spend time together, and enjoy activities and studies. To ensure everyone can stay comfortably while exchanging greetings and showing consideration for each other, we place particular importance on the following points:
① Participation in Gatherings
We value morning and evening gatherings as a way to promote interaction and deepen understanding among user groups, so we encourage you to participate.
② Punctuality
Please be considerate of other groups by starting your preparations 10 minutes before the scheduled time and arriving 5 minutes before the gathering.
③ Keep the facility as clean as when you arrived.
To ensure the next group enjoys a pleasant stay, please clean the dormitory, tidy the bedding, and clean the activity areas with consideration for others. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a clean facility.
④ Hello! It is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Say hello to others! Exchanging greetings makes the stay more comfortable for everyone.
Q4. Do we need to clean up the guest room we stayed in and the other facilities we used?
A. Yes, we ask for your cooperation in tidying up bedding and the activity areas with consideration.
Areas to clean: guest rooms, restrooms, washrooms, training rooms, gym, and hallways you used. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping the facility “cleaner than when you arrived”.
Q5. What are the check-in and check-out times?
A. Both check-in and check-out are generally between 9 am and 4 pm.
Day of Check-In: Please complete the procedures and orientation regarding facility usage at your check-in.
Day of Check-Out: On your departure day, our staff member will inspect the room to confirm it is clean after you have cleaned your room and made your bed.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Q6. What times are wake-up, lights-out, and meal times?
A. The schedule for those is as follows:
Wake-up time: 6:30 am. You will hear the wake-up music.
Lights-out time: 10:30 pm
Breakfast: 7:30 am to 9:00 am
Lunch: 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
Dinner: 5:20 pm to 7:00 pm
Q7. Are morning and evening gatherings mandatory?
A. We value interaction with other groups and staff. With the understanding of user groups, we have established morning and evening gatherings as opportunities to share updates on activities and personal reflections.
We ask that you participate in the following sessions:
Youthpia Time: 5:00 pm –
Sawayaka Time (Morning Refresh Time): 7:15 am –
Q8. What do we do at the morning and evening gatherings?
A. They are held as follows.
◇ Sawayaka Time: Starts at 7:15 am
① Radio Calisthenics
② Information from Staff
③ Other
◇ Youthpia Time: Starts at 5:00 pm
① Lowering of the Taisetsu Youth Friendship Center flag and national flag
② Introduction of the group by group representative
③ Speeches sharing impressions of the training, followed by a time for interaction
④ Announcement from our staff
⑤ Other
Q9. Are there any items I must bring?
A. Please bring the following items.
1. Items required for the training program
2. Indoor shoes. No slippers are provided in our facility.
3. Personal care items you need, such as soap, shampoo, towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
Q10. Where do we pay for facility usage and meals?
A. Please follow the steps below.
① Receive and fill out the application we provide at the reception.
② Submit the application to the office, and our staff will issue an invoice.
③ Take the invoice and pay the fees at the payment counter located inside the cafeteria.
④ You can choose to pay by cash, bank transfer, or convenience store payment.
*Please note that convenience store payments are not accepted for meal charges.
