Group Program Feedback
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Group Living We had a good night’s sleep thanks to the Air Weave. My back usually hurts, but it didn’t this time.
Elementary School in Kamikawa District Group Living I saw a different side of the children than I do at school. I also discovered that while they are usually quiet at school, many of them expressed themselves freely once they were away from the school setting. It was great that they had a lot of patience.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Group Living The students conducted their activities responsibly while using public facilities.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Training The students made an effort to stick to the schedule for each activity and worked together, checking in with one another as they carried out tasks such as making the beds in their respective groups. The number of questions they asked the teacher to confirm each step has decreased.

Junior High School in Asahikawa City Group Living We observed improvements in areas such as how the students walked in the hallways and their table manners. It also served as a valuable opportunity for them to recognize and act upon the importance of being considerate toward their roommates and showing gratitude to the staff, even while having fun.
Junior High School in Asahikawa City Group Living The experience at the Center was an opportunity to consider things from the other person’s perspective rather than acting solely out of self-interest, such as greeting others. By comparing our students with those at other schools, we were able to take a good, hard look at ourselves.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Training Through experiences the children don’t usually get to have, they were able to truly appreciate the richness of nature, the importance of bonds with friends, and the benefits of working together.
Elementary School in Biei Town Training Even the children who usually rely on their teachers to guide their actions were able to live and participate in hands-on activities while cooperating with their peers. I believe this is all thanks to the experiences and practical training they gained at the Friendship Center.
Junior High School in Asahikawa City Training We observed participants making a conscious effort to act in accordance with rules and regulations. While there are still areas for improvement, we saw growth in how they interacted with others before and after the training.
Junior High School in Asahikawa City Group Living Given that school events were canceled or restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fact that we were able to organize a group activity involving an overnight stay was significant in itself; it provided experiences, discoveries, and insights into others that cannot be gained through everyday school life.
Elementary School in Kamikawa District Group Living We observed the children making a conscious effort to speak to one another while being mindful of the time, and aware that others were also using the facility, seriously considering how they should conduct themselves and striving to put those considerations into practice.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Training We observed the students acting with a sense of time, taking responsibility for their roles, and working together with their friends.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Training Throughout each training program, we frequently observed the children collaborating with friends and taking the initiative to prepare equipment.

Group Program Feedback
Junior High School in Asahikawa City Group Living Usually, I only noticed the students’ shortcomings and spent my time scolding them, saying “Don’t do this” or “Don’t do that,” but after hearing what the staff had to say, I was able to take another look at the students’ positive qualities. I had told them beforehand that the elementary students staying at the same facility went to bed early and that they should be quiet in the hallways. I mentioned how wonderful it was that the staff member on duty had reminded them to “Be quiet” as they were leaving the Youthpia Hall.
Elementary School in Sapporo City Hiking Through activities such as planning the program, we observed the children taking initiative on their own. During the hike, we saw them supporting their peers and feeling moved as everyone reached the summit together, which allowed us to witness their personal growth.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Climbing Although these children usually don’t show much interest in others, they were able to grow by sharing the challenges of the hike and supporting one another. It was truly wonderful to see the best side of these children that we don’t usually see at school.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Hiking To achieve the goals the children set for themselves on the hike, they were able to think through the process themselves and make judgments, such as whether they could continue.

Through walks and visits to the Sabou Jyouhou Center, the Erosion Control Information Center, their interest in the history embedded in the land and their understanding of the importance of disaster prevention grew.
Junior High School in Kamikawa District Group Living There were many instances where the children worked together in groups to solve problems. The children pooled their efforts as a group, thought about how each of them could contribute, and worked to build a better group.
Elementary School in Asahikawa City Group Living While the children still exhibited a strong sense of childishness, we could see them making their own efforts to keep their promises and ensure that group activities ran smoothly.
Junior High School in Kamikawa District Group Living I was quite surprised to hear several students say they wanted to go home due to tiredness from the light hike. I thought to myself, “But we still have activities planned, we’re going to take a bath together, and we’re staying in the same room… There should be fun things ahead,” and wondered if their enthusiasm for these activities had waned. However, as I watched the students afterward, I saw them working together and having a great time, and I felt that their sense of belonging—or perhaps their camaraderie—had grown stronger.
